Discover Davines

By creating beauty sustainably, we encourage people to take care of themselves, of the environment of witch they live and work, and of the things they love
— Davide Bollati, Davines president.

Who are Davines?

Davines are a Sustainable hair care brand founded in 1983 in Parma, Italy, by the Bollati family. Davines actually started as a research laboratory producing premium hair care products for renowned cosmetic companies worldwide!

After a decade of producing excellence for others they decided to start creating their own high-end hair care products exclusively for salons under the brand Davines. A few years later in 1996 the group also created Comfort Zone creating high end skin care products for premier spas.

Davines are supplying high quality hair care products that are taking the industry by storm & helping to save the planet! This brand has some incredible products! here are some of my favourites -

Davines Village, Para, Italy

100% of the electricity used in the Davines Village production site derives from renewable sources.

We abandoned the use of fossil gas, replaced by bio-methane and geothermal energy.

Davines is also working to ensure that the other Group offices around the world follow the same policy.

At the moment, 71.4% of the electricity used in foreign offices derives from renewable sources.

Davines village Gardens, Para, Italy

Beside the buildings of the Davines Village there is also the Scientific Garden, an open-air laboratory with a surface area of 3000 m² and a diameter of about 60 meters.

Inside the garden there are four areas, dedicated to different botanical categories: the Garden of Aromas, the Medical Garden, the Garden of Colors and the Garden of Perfumes.

“At Davines, we believe that living a balance of beauty & sustainability, what we call “sustainable beauty”, can improve our lives and the world around us.

— Davide Bollati, President.

Why do Davines still use plastic to package products & not glass?

 Well as a planet we currently have a pretty big plastic problem that isn’t going anywhere fast. The production of glass packaging also releases a lot of CO2 in the carbonisation process, so Davines use recycled plastic for packaging to try and combat the excess amount of plastic that’s already on our planet. The packaging is also manufactured using only energy from renewable sources with any carbon dioxide emissions offset by funding reforestation projects.

Davines essential hair care range

Packaged using recycled plastic that can be recycled again.

Sustainability in the essential hair care range;

Slow food is an organisation founded in Italy in 1896 and from then on has been implemented world wide. It tries to preserve traditional and regional food production and encourages the farming of seeds, plants and natural produce characteristics of the local eco system. It supports local small businesses and sustainable food production.

Slow food ingredients map

Essential Haircare lets you feel good about giving your hair the custom care it craves, while also helping to protect and preserve the biodiversity of our planet. The local farmers behind each family represent a different ingredient at the risk of extinction, which is now utilized as an active part of each formula.

Every slow food president in essential hair care is cultivated by Italian farms who work to preserve unique ingredients that are at the risk of extinction.

Davines have utilised these unique ingredients that were at the risk of extinction and used them as an integral part of each product family in the essential hair care range. By doing so they have contributed to preserve and protect our planets biodiversity.

Essential hair care products are packaged using the smallest amount of food grade plastic which can be easily up-cycled into Tupperware or pots for small plants.

Davines Products are all;

  • Respectful of the biodiversity of our planet.

  • Biodegradable where possible.

  • Of natural, organic or eco-certified origin where possible.

  • Manufactured in compliance with eco-ethical standards.

  • Innovative, high quality, pure tested with universities and research centres.

  • Of traceable origin.
